REHEARSALS

Terms + Conditions

  • Equipment- Rehearsal rooms are provided with a PA system, 2 x guitar combos, guitar cabs, bass combo, bass cab, drum kit (bass + tom shells, 3 x cymbal stands, hi hat stand + clutch), microphone stands and guitar stands. We ask that drummers bring their own cymbals, snare, bass pedal and stool (breakables). We do have basic snares and bass drum pedals available to hire at no extra cost. We only have hi hats and rides available to rent at no extra cost, no crash cymbals. We do lend out microphones but are asking singers to bring their own if they can. Of course, everyone is welcome to bring their own gear to use to. If you need guitar leads, aux cables, drum keys etc, ask us in the office and we will probably have what you need!

  • Damage/Broken Equipment- Any damage caused by misuse/abuse will be charged to the band/individual. If something is broken or missing at the start or during of your session, please notify us immediately.

  • Cancellations- If you need to cancel a rehearsal, please do so as soon as possible. We have a cancellation period of 24 hours. If you cancel within the 24 hour period you may still be charged. 

​

  • Loading In/Out- If you have booked a rehearsal from 7pm-11pm, you can start loading in from 7pm and must be loaded out by 11pm. If you arrive early and the room is free, a member of staff will confirm if you can load in early. If not, please wait outside until your allotted time. 

​

  • Personal Items- Shug Studios are not responsible for personal items lost or damaged on the premises.  

  • Parking- Free parking is available outside the studio. Please use the spaces provided. You can park outside the door to load in, but please move your vehicle to a space once loaded in. Shug Studios are not responsible for any theft/damage to vehicles in the car park.

  • Payment- We accept cash, card/contactless or bank transfer before, during or at the end of your rehearsal. 

​

  • Smoking/Vaping is not permitted anywhere in the studio premises. The smoking area is outside the front door. Please use the cigarette bin provided. If you are found to be smoking/vaping in the studio and set the fire alarm off, a £50 fine will be issued. 

​

  • Food/Drink- Free tea and coffee is available. We also sell soft drinks and snacks. You can bring your own food and drink, please don't leave drinks on top of amps/electrical equipment. 

​

  • Rubbish- Please throw your rubbish away in the bins in the kitchen area or take it home.

Lesson Payment

  • Lessons cost £16 per 30 minutes / £31 per hour.

  • Lessons are to be held weekly (unless agreed in advance) during term time. Lessons may also be available during school holidays, the teacher will let you know the arrangements nearer the time of the holiday to discuss availability.

  • Lessons can be paid for in advance (termly) or on a pay as you go basis via cash or bank transfer.

Cancellations/Rescheduled Lessons

  • If a lesson needs to be cancelled, please do so as soon as possible. If a lesson is cancelled within 24 hours of the arranged slot, you will still be charged for the lesson.

  • Cancellations may be rescheduled (subject to availability) within the same calendar week if at least 24 hours notice is given

  • If a student arrives late, the lesson will finish at the previously agreed time to avoid knock-on delays to to other pupils.

  • Lessons that are unattended without prior notification will not be eligible for rescheduling or a refund.

  • Shug Studios are not responsible for students outside of their booked lesson. Students may wait in the reception area before their lesson. Please be ready to pick your child up at the end of their lesson time.

 

Terminating Lessons

  • One week notice of termination must be given. Refunds will be given for the remainder of non-taken lessons if applicable.

  • The teacher can terminate lessons at anytime without notice.

 

Teacher Absence

  • From time to time, the teacher may need to cancel or reschedule lessons. As much notice as possible will be given. The student/parent will not be expected to pay for the lesson, it will be rescheduled/refunded or credited to a future lesson.

 

Equipment

  • Students are to bring drum sticks and any books/sheets used for the lesson. Ear plugs are also recommended.

  • We highly recommend that the student has a drum kit or a practice pad at home to practice on. A music stand and a metronome app are also very useful.

  • To get the most out of lessons we recommend practicing as often as you can, every day ideally for at least fifteen minutes. The more the better!
